I have been with Wernick Group for over three years,
starting off in a brand-new role as QEMS Coordinator.
The company has been great with supporting my
journey so far, providing the resources needed for me
to be a qualified internal auditor for both quality and
environmental management systems.
I recently completed my studies in MSc Environmental
Economics and Management at the University of York.
In 2025, I started the Wernick Power Solutions Trainee
Engineer Scheme at Dartford and have since progressed
to become a qualified engineer. The scheme is a great
internal initiative that provides a 2 year structured
electrical and mechanical engineering programme which
allows trainees to learn, develop and build a career in the
power solutions industry.
I enjoy having the ability to travel to all our Hire and
Power depots to support each one with their journey
for maintaining high-quality work while minimising their
impact on the environment. The company values its staff,
which is evidenced by the training offered as well as its
focus for internal progression. I was recently promoted to
QEMS Manager, which has been a rewarding recognition
of my work so far.

During my placement, I worked on a sustainability
and operational net zero strategy project, supporting
emissions analysis, data modelling and identifying
practical decarbonisation opportunities within factory
operations. The experience allowed me to apply the
knowledge gained through my studies to real-world
business challenges and develop a much deeper
understanding of sustainability in practice.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the internship was
the supportive team and positive work culture at Wernick.
The guidance and encouragement I received from Alexis
Massey, Group Sustainability Manager, helped strengthen
my confidence, technical skills and professional
foundation at an important stage in my career.
I have now also been able to mentor and help deliver the
programme to new entrants as they grow their careers
with Wernick Power Solutions.
As the power sector continues to grow, so does our
innovative offering of generators, battery storage units
and integrated solar/wind technology. Training and
knowledge is essential for us to be able to offer the best
power solutions for our customers.
