Apprenticeship Scheme
After gaining a degree in Business Management and
Marketing from the University of Hull, I joined Wernick
10 months ago and have been working at Wernick Hire,
Mansfield and in the Modular Hire division.
The Yard Operative Trainee Scheme at Wernick Hire has
been a rewarding experience. It gave me the opportunity
to learn new skills and gain hands-on experience with
cabins and modular buildings. Working alongside Shaun
has helped me build my knowledge and confidence
through his guidance and support.
The apprenticeship programme at Wernick Hire has
been a highly rewarding experience. It has allowed me to
develop valuable skills and has built a solid foundation for
my future career within the business. I would recommend
this programme to anyone who likes a challenge and is
looking for hands on experience in a supportive
working environment.
One of the key lessons I’ve learnt so far is that you must
be proactive and adaptable on a day-to-day basis and
adopt a hands-on approach. I’ve learnt that managing my
time effectively is key to meeting client expectations. The
systems and processes in place at Wernick have allowed
me to develop and feel confident within my role. The main
hurdle I needed to overcome at first was the travelling
involved with the role. I now enjoy this and see that it
creates exciting opportunities. Visiting other locations
and having the support of my colleagues has helped me
to develop within the company.
My next goal is to complete the MPBA L1 and L2 Electrical
courses, enabling me to test and wire modular units
safely and effectively. I’ve enjoyed the variety of the role
and the support of my colleagues, whose encouragement
has made the experience both enjoyable and rewarding.
