Wernick Hire Supports Swinnow Community Centre
Team members from Wernick Hire’s Leeds and Mansfield depots recently took part in the Swinnow
Community Centre’s “Big Dig” as part of Wernick’s new Outcome Day initiative.
Four volunteers spent the day helping to improve the centre’s outdoor spaces by moving planters,
clearing weeds, painting fences and preparing new planting areas.
River Ogmore clean-up
Wernick supported the River Ogmore clean-up, a five-day community initiative led by A Peace of Nature
to tackle pollution in the river. Wernick Hire provided welfare facilities, including a 32ft canteen and 10ft
office, giving volunteers a comfortable space to rest throughout the project.
The clean-up focused on removing thousands of tyres and large amounts of litter from the river, helping
to restore the local environment and protect wildlife.
Great British Spring Clean
Wernick employees joined the Wates team and other volunteers for a litter-picking event at Think Park.
Together, they collected a record-breaking 30 bags of litter, helping to improve the local environment and
earning praise from residents.
