4.3 Graduate & management training programme
We continue to deliver our graduate and management training programme,
with five new candidates taken on in 2024. The programme provides
individuals with the opportunity to develop and grow in our business
and features a structured 24-month programme with time spent at the
following Wernick Companies:
>> Wernick Hire:
They are mentored by a member of the Senior Management Team and get involved with all
aspects of management in a role which is similar to that of an Assistant Manager
>> Modular experience:
They can gain further experience working in our scheduling, estimating and technical
departments and supporting the on-site delivery of a project, learning how to oversee the
successful installation and completion of our building systems
The programme enables individuals to identify their areas of interest while providing them
with experience and a clear path for progression, leading to fulfilling work.
Jason Wedlock, Graduate Management Trainee
Glasgow Hire
“
Starting the Wernick Hire Graduate Management Trainee Role in November 2024
was an exciting and nerve-racking experience. Having had no previous knowledge
of the construction industry before starting, I had assumed it would be a tough
beginning, with the requirement to rapidly learn so much information in a short
space of time. However, this couldn’t have been further from reality. From the
moment I entered our Glasgow depot to begin my first moments with Wernick, I
was greeted with a warm welcome from all members of the team. Being provided
with all the tools and training I could ever need to progress and feeling a sense of
unwavering support from the outset.
One of my personal favourite parts of the programme is the overall diversity
of day-to-day activities. It has allowed me to gain invaluable opportunities
and led me to participate in plenty of differing events, progressing my own
personal development massively.

4.4 Trainee Generator Engineer Scheme
OUR PEOPLE:
James McKelvie, Trainee Engineer
Eggborough Power Solutions
“
OUR PEOPLE:
Since joining Wernick Power Solutions, I have had a very informative experience. The training I
have received has taught me many things, from basic services to major repairs to fault finding
and upkeep of generators. Being a person who learns through experience, Rob Warriner has
guided me through a lot of problems faced when preparing kits for contracts.
Personally speaking, I have fallen in love with the job, not only is it in an industry that interests
me, but the work that I provide leaves me feeling accomplished, knowing our clients are
provided top-quality equipment.
My training is progressing to more complicated and difficult tasks, giving me the
knowledge to tackle any problem found on sites and the yard.
