Ebony and Nikki successfully complete 100 miles each for charity
Ebony Johnson, Hire Controller at Hull and Nikki
Amers-Delph, Sales Director at Hull Hire took on the
challenge of walking 100 miles throughout February for
Cancer Research UK. Amongst their busy schedules
and commitments, Nicki got her miles in before work
around her local areas but walked along the coast
during weekends.
Ebony challenged herself to walk to and from work every
day and completed longer walks around the park at the
weekend. By the end of the combined 200 miles, Nikki raised
an incredible £740.83 with the first half being matched by
Wernick’s Fund Chairty Matching Scheme, and Ebony raised
an astonishing £810; additionally with £405 being matched
by Wernick’s Charity Fund Matching Scheme.
Kasia and Sue complete the Race for Life for Cancer Research UK
Kasia Nowak, Design Manager at Kenfig Buildings
completed the race alongside Sue Wonnacott, Purchaser
at Kenfig Buildings and other friends. The event took
place in Swansea, and covered areas around Swansea
Marina and its seafront.
Kasia has already planned to take part in the event again next
year and hopes to encourage more of her friends to join. In
the meantime, she is looking to complete more charity events
for Cancer Research UK, with aim to take on more physically
challenging challenges. In total, Kasia raised an incredible £806
with the first £403 being matched by Wernick’s Fund Matching
Scheme.
Robyn and Nicky’s farnham fundraiser for Macmillan
Robyn Gaines, Assistant Depot Manager and Nicky
Perkins, General Manager at Farnham Hire organised a
fun-filled evening of raffle and karaoke in aid of Macmillan
Cancer Support. The busy fundraising event took place in
Farnham, welcoming approximately 80 guests.
Friends, family and local businesses generously donated
an array of gifts including wine, day passes to spa hotels,
champagne, gift vouchers and hampers. Thanks to the
efforts of Robyn and Nicky, the event successfully raised an
impressive £2100 with the first £1000 being matched by the
Wernick Fund Matching Scheme.
Martin and Billy take on an annual football match for Highland Hospice
2024 marks the thirteenth edition of Strictly Inverness,
a three-day dance competition and event in which
competitors battle it out to see who will be crowned
the overall champions. Since it first launched in 2010,
this competition has raised over £2 million for Highland
Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.
Martin Taylor, Foreman and Billy Munro, Electrician at Nairn Hire
headed to the venue ready to tackle the intense 90-minute game.
The opposing team was a lot younger which took the men by
surprise. After a competitive morning, the match came to an end
with a final score of 8-5 to the Hospice Team. Together, a grand total
of £1400 was raised for Highland Hospice with Wernick matching
the first £400 through the Wernick Fund Matching Scheme.
